Nothing like homemade bread.......

Just made the best Banana Bread ever! It's an older recipe from my mom's cookbook that I got a copy of. I call it my magic book, lol. It's a super easy recipe:

Banana Bread (vegetarian)
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas (3-4 medium)
1/3 c. water
1 2/3 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix and bake in 350 degree oven for 1 to 1 1/4 hours in a bread pan with only the bottom greased.

This is the original recipe, and I'm not sure where she got it from. Mix ingredients in the order listed. When I made it, I omitted the nuts (I just prefer it that way) and I greased all sides of the pan....I figured it couldn't hurt. You could probably substitute the butter for applesauce or imitation margarine and then use egg substitute for a vegan recipe.

I also recently made some earrings out of parts that I dug out of an old printer.

The first pair has springs, not sure from where at in the printer, but the second one has rubber covers that were by the ink but have no ink on them. I have more parts that I pulled out like gears and such, which I will use later, but I don't have enough jump rings to make things with them yet....although....I could just poke a hole in them.....hmmm....

On a side note, bamboo still is not doing well except for the ones in the turtle tank and a little vase filled with water. It has a reputation of growing out of control....one it's sadly not living up to.

Free pattern for Simple Tapered Leg Warmers

I've been recently frustrated with my crochet and needed an quick, easy pattern to get rid of some of my stash.  So I found a pair of leg warmers... Great!  Except my gauge was totally off because I almost always refuse to check it since it takes so much time and bothers me since i have to pull extra out of my skein....long story short....I ended up creating my own pattern.  Note: These are meant to be more fitted, and you may have to adjust the size. **This pattern is for personal use only, and it took me several hours to create.  Please do not sell this pattern or the final product.  Thanks! These leg warmers are a little tapered at the bottom because I wanted to make sure they didn't just come off or make their way under my heel.  The pattern is worked in rounds and my calves are about 14".  Ch 3 and Ch 2 count as a dc or hdc, EXCEPT for the last round. Yarn: WW- I used Red Heart Hooks: H & I Abbreviations: - st- stitch - ch- chain ...
