Quick Pineapple Peacock Scarf

I came up with this on the spot.  Takes a couple hours to make and it's extremely customizable in length and yarn.  This was yarn I got from another sweater that I bought for a couple dollars from the thrift store.  This pattern is for personal use only it took me a couple hours to make the pattern, please respect that.  Do not sell the final product or the pattern.  Thanks! Pineapple Peacock Scarf Note: Gauge is not important.  Use a hook appropriate for thickness of yarn.  Scarf is made by creating two separate pineapples and then attaching the yarn to one.  The length with then be crocheted and the second pineapple will be attached at the end. Shell (sh)= 2 dc, ch, 2 dc (when making first shell in row, ch up 3 to count as 1st dc) How to make the pineapple (make 2): R1: Ch 9 and dc, ch, 2 dc in 4th ch from hook.  Sh in last st.  turn R2: sl st in 2nd dc and in ch1sp.  Sh in ch1sp, ch 2, sh in next ch1sp. Turn. R3: sl st in 2nd dc a

More crochet

So I believe that I mentioned before that I have been trying to use up my random skein here and there of yarn. Here are two more projects that I made: This is the "Easy Shell Shrug" free pattern can be found on Ravelry.com. It took me about a day and a half, and this is the 4th project this yarn has seen. It started as a bolero, turned into a purse and a snowflake, and will now stay as a shrug :) It was a little confusing in the beginning because the pattern instructions have some problems, and the author does not have the desire to fix them. So if you have any questions just ask! This I actually finished last week. I really like how different this is and that it can be worn as an accessory. This pattern was a little confusing too, but easy once you get used to it. It took me a couple hours to make only because I had never worked with Homespun, and let me tell you, bad idea to use it for the first time with this pattern. Although I do really like how soft it

busy with reconstruction :)

okay, so i recently moved to japan from the states and have yet to find job or friends :( i have had LOTS of time on my hands, so reconmania!!!! please excuse the hair...i slept in braids and still have not fixed my hair today so i really don't look that shmucky. i also just realized that i did one more recon that was a long skirt and i made it into a short skirt, but nothing really interesting so i figured no pic was needed. i'm going to use it as an underskirt for when i make crochet skirts :) So this first one was from a button down, and it was originally a dress, but i didn't like the way it was looking, so snip snip :) i had to fix the boob area about 4 times because they have a mind of their own. anyways though for as many issues as i had, i think it turned out really well, but i need something more than just the tiny ribbon because it digs into my neck for, again two obvious reasons. The pic is a little blurry so you may not see there is a bow in the middl

Curtains, jewelry and tidbits!

I finally got around to making curtains for my bedroom. When I first moved in, I broke the blinds, and have wanted to tactfully cover the window ever since, but only had a valence. That and taping the blinds together just wasn't cutting it. I made these out of a sheet that I also used to make my boyfriend's smurf hat. I think it was originally a sheet that he accidentally took when he left the navy. I hemmed all the edges and made a casing by folding over the top so the curtain rod could go through. They turned out shorter than I expected, but am still pleased with the results. I haven't decided whether or not I want to dye them, since the sun will bleach them. I finished my tshirt scarf. I originally intended for it to be crochet, since I prefer crochet to knitting. However, I could not find my Q Hook, which would have been big enough to crochet it (I was having difficult with crocheting with my N Hook. Instead I used my size 13 circular needles. It turned out hea

Lots of crafties and pictures!

I found my camera charger! What does this mean? A much happier Stephi and pictures for you :) Some of the crafts are much harder to describe without them. So...lets get down to business. First of all, I just randomly threw together Hershey's Hot Fudge Pudding Cake, and it smells so yummy, I can't wait! This is a very easy recipe but a little tricky, so I highly suggest that you give the directions a once-over before you make it. It really turns out pudding-like, and who could go wrong with chocolate anyways? http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Hersheys--Hot-Fudge-Pudding-Cake/Detail.aspx Ps. It amazing with vanilla ice cream fresh out of the oven! I also made a hat today....seems weird in the middle of the summer, right? I would deem it one of those, throw-it-on-when-my-hair-looks-like-crap hats :) That and it's comfy too. I modified it a little since the main reason I don't like crocheting in the round is because when I single crochet, I always lose where I started e

Diamonds!

I haven't had a lot of time lately to do much crafting, but should have more time next week, YEY! I did get a chance to work on the diamond scarf I started last week (or was it earlier this week?). Anyways, I had a lot of time to work on it yesterday. In the picture, it is partially folded over, where the pocket on the end is going to be. I have also been searching for ornaments to crochet. I've looked at CPC but haven't found anything that I really liked that was semi-easy. Does anyone have any ideas?

A nice warm dinner

I'm obviously a craft nut, and have tons of things that I want to do, multiple things I've started, some which I have forgotten about. After finally giving in and reorganizing my yarns and fabrics, I found a scarf that I had made out of really soft, fuzzy yarn. However, it was a plain cream color...key word... was . I decided to add some really cute flowers on it. I got the idea for the pattern from the Pillow Trio with Flowers pattern on Lion Brand's website. I did 5 petals instead of 6 and I made the flowers all one color. I also place the flowers differently on either side to add interest. My next project was dinner. Let me start out by saying, yes, I consider myself a vegetarian, although I do eat fish once in a blue moon and I don't particularly eating it that much because it was a living animal. I also eat it for the protein but will probably take it completely out of my diet, especially because it keeps grossing me out when I think about it. Anyways, I fo

Wow, it's been a long time!

I've been really busy this past week....parents' anniversary, apartment inspection....busy, busy, busy! However I still have been crafting :) I made a dozen red roses to complement their 'date basket'. The hardest thing about the roses was putting together the tops, but after that, it was easy! The 'date basket' consisted of - wine - bagette - vegetable seasoning ( http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/ 0,1725,144173-250194,00.html ) - skillet lasagna in a jar ( http://www.thatsmyhome.com/ general/lasagna-mix.htm ) - a dozen red crochet roses - a gift certificate from Blockbuster for a movie - popcorn & other movie munchies (I got some ideas from this website as to what to include, but I thought of the idea before I found this: http://www.thatsmyhome.com/ general/movie.htm ) You can probably make a basket for almost any occasion, just think outside the box...or the basket! Another project I have been working on is a dress made from one of my shirts that doesn'
