Okay, so here is the pattern for the purple pair of undies. It is not tested, so please let me know if there are mistakes. I would recommend using a smaller hook for a tighter crochet. I will probably remake it with a smaller hook....however, the hook I used, I got from a hair dying kit so I don't know the exact size. I would guestimate 1.5-2.00 mm. Also this pattern is for personal use only, please do not sell, as I am giving it to you for free and it took several hours to write it down since I had to constantly retrace my steps. Thanks, and enjoy!!!...Oh and one more thing....if you do make it, PICTURES!!!

***I made this pattern to fit me...I wear about a 6 size undies. If you wear bigger or smaller, you will need to adjust accordingly. They are meant to also be a little lower (like bikini's instead of briefs...that and I'm a littler person so sometimes undies that are big enough to fit my bum take over). I also made the ties so they could be just double knotted, not tied in bows, so if that's what you're looking for, you would need to add more. *****
Oh my, crocheted undies. Who on Earth would wear these?
ReplyDeleteThese are pretty! :)
ReplyDeletePretty neat idea but I think it is a bit creepy that you want pictures. JMO
ReplyDeleteI need to get a hair dying kit that comes with crochet hooks! Thanks for the pattern, I've got some crochet thread lying around that's perfect for this!
ReplyDeleteawesome!
ReplyDeleteI think they're GREAT!! And to who said that asking for pics was creepy- I'm quite certain that the request was for the ITEM that was made, NOT for the artisan to MODEL them...
ReplyDeleteyou would be correct!
ReplyDeleteI made neck scarves for the residents at a long term care for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to make these for those of us that work there (in white for under the white uniforms!:
lol@ creepy comment... I have been looking for a nice thong. These are nice and if I want to change them to panties I can just duplicate the front either larger or smaller depending on the look... I love this. I'm going to try to generate more than one size. This is really nice.
ReplyDeletewhy would you put this on the internet and think that people would not make and sell them ? this is a truly honest question, do you think you are the first to make them?
ReplyDeleteI worked really hard on the pattern and would expect that people would respect that. If I do find that people are selling them, then the patterns, and those that I am continuously writing, will no longer be free. I actually looked all over the internet for a pattern and could not find a pattern for one.
ReplyDeleteWell, so far this morning, I've not found many patterns for crocheted undies for free.
ReplyDeleteDrops is an awesome company that has several bikini patterns available for free though and I've always thought that a bikini set is still a bra and panty in the end. >.<
Question: I agree that selling the actual pattern would be fraudulent. Would it bother you people selling the finished item if they linked back to this page to credit you as the designer? I'm looking for a personal use thing myself, I'm just wondering where you stand as pattern copyright is always a hotly contested topic in the forums I frequent.
Also: to turn this into a panty rather than a thong, can you suggest how to adjust the crotch bit? I'm thinking 2 right angle triangle shapes that would up to flush with the lower half of the bottom bit? Depending on they fit... Idk. :)
Thanks for the pattern. I hope to give a try and will keeping thinking on how to adjust as I await your reply.
Cheers.
Glad you were able to find this pattern :) If I was selling the pattern, then it would be okay to sell the product. However, since it is an original pattern, and I spent a lot of time creating the pattern, I do not want the product sold. I do mention that in the beginning of the post. I would just do the same pattern as the front, but larger (more rows), using a regular pair of panties as a guide as to how big it would be needed for yourself. Just remember though, the cotton thread doesn't have stretch to it. Thank you for your interest in this pattern :)
ReplyDeleteHm... Sounds like good advice and I see what you mean about selling - surely people can see how that's reasonable.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to start this today and soon keeping your advice in mind. I guess for the crotch area I can just crochet a separate piece and then join to the front and back, including lining I hope. Appreciate the swift reply. :)
I don't know if I would make a separate piece. That may be too much work. I would either put a little less string than the original pattern, and then again start the larger triangle, or I would make it less of a triangle so it would be wide like a regular panty, and maybe do rows of sc about 2" wide or something for the crotch area, and then do something similar to the back (make it less of a point). If that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteHi. I finally got around to starting the pattern. I'm lost on Round 7. It says repeat from * to * but nothing has been marked to repeat on that row.
ReplyDeleteAlso, when I do the first bit - shell in 1st dc of shell, sc in middle of shell, shell in last dc of same shell, the pattern gets an enormously odd curve that puts the panty out of shape. I end up with an almost right angle curve that ruins the previous straight-ish edge. Please help. I can't even guess at what to do!
Some of the other rows also say repeat from * to * but have no other markers. Thanks.
I think I fixed row 7. You have to forgive me, it's been two years since I have done this project. Is it row 7 you are referring to when you say you "do the first bit?"
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fix on Row 7.
ReplyDeleteYes, I meant the instructions at the start of Row 7 by the 'first bit'. Just noticed that Row 9 and some subsequent rows also have floating asterisks - not sure exactly what you're supposed to be repeating. Partly my bad, I should have read through the whole pattern before starting. :)
I know it's been a while for you with this pattern and I appreciate your trying to help very much. :)
Referring back to your first comment in row 7: That should be right, it may get a little funky but it should even out in the end. I wish I had the original thong with me, but I don't. I will try to go back and fix those rows you mentioned. Please let me know if there is any more editing needed.
ReplyDeleteThese are really nice, although I would make them into panties and put a liner of some sort into them. (I'm not into showing stuff off and open lacy things make me uncomfortable.)
ReplyDeleteunderstandable
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pattern, I will start it tomorrow!
